What to do while you are waiting for your empanadas are cooking…
One thing I have always been blessed with in my life, is friends. Doesn’t matter how poor I am, or what country I am living in, I have been surrounded by people that I can consider an extended family - and it is one of the things I am most grateful for.
Another thing is facebook.
Ahh facebook - love it or hate it, for the world traveler it is THE way to keep track of your friends. And it is the way that Leo and I both found out that 1. I was in his country of birth, and 2. that he was returning for a month to visit it. Because of it, I got to meet his amazing family, and I was invited to spend a few days with them in their country house.
It was so nice to get out of La Ciudad de la Furia for a few days, to practice un montón de castellano, to hear a little bit of the accento español that Leo picked up living there, (warms my heart a bit remembering it!). I also got to get a great tan, go running, go bike riding, learn how to balance on an exercise ball, have some beers in a pool. Leo also gave me a tennis lesson - prompting me to add tennis to list of things I must pursue in 2012.
So while waiting for empanadas - choose your own adventure! Or call your manager “and just buy the 747” cause you be so ballin’… literally!
